Nine Health in China
Nine Health has been active in China since 2014, when it partnered with Chinese healthcare software developer Lantone to create Diagbot , an AI clinical decision support system which supports doctors in community clinics in China to make more accurate diagnoses.
We are now active across the country, in Wuxi, Chengdu, Beijing and Hong Kong, where we have a wholly owned subsidiary.
Wuxi IDream
In November 2019, Nine Health Global signed an agreement to establish a subsidiary in Wuxi International Life Science Innovation Campus (I-Campus) in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, China.
I-Campus is a joint initiative by AstraZeneca, the global pharmaceutical company, and Wuxi municipal government. It aims to create a life-science ecosystem on a global scale, covering research & development, incubation and commercialization for innovative Chinese and international companies in the areas of pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, devices and digitalization.
Nine Health will use Wuxi as its research and development base to undertake big data and AI research and development projects for Chinese and international clients.
Chengdu Primary Care
Nine Health, together with other UK and Chinese companies, has been commissioned to support the development of a third-generation primary care system in Wuhou district, Chengdu, Sichuan province, China.
The new system will ultimately be implemented across Chengdu and then the rest of Sichuan province, which has a population of 90 million. Nine Health Global is leading the development of population health systems and secondary use of data.
As part of the delivery of the third-generation primary care system, but also with a broader remit, Nine Health is setting up an International Innovation Centre in Chengdu with Maple Primary Care Research Centre. This China operational headquarters for Nine Health will attract international companies able to support the development of new primary care systems, services and patient-centred products, helping them to land in Chengdu and access the wider Chinese market.
Tsingdata D-Lab, Beijing
Nine Health Global has signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint operation with Tsingdata D-Lab, a big data laboratory with close links to Tsinghua University. D-Lab has propelled the application of data into healthcare and other industries throughout China and elsewhere.
